A Top Flight Birthday

Since the Arizona-based Top Flight guys couldn’t make it out to California for my 20th birthday, they made this DOPE video for me instead.

Rad Night

Gassing up

So last night, the weather channel predicted rain. The CB radio predicted rain. iPhones predicted rain. So we all met up at around 1am in hopes for some precipitation. As we looked into the sky, all we could see were some patchy clouds and clear sky behind them. It wasn’t looking good. As the time rolled by 1:30am…2:00am….3:00am, people began to leave. All that was left was Brad from Tom Flight, Nieko from Hammertime, and me. As 3:30am comes about, a friend who lived 2 blocks away texted, “itsss pouring here!”, but as we look again to the sky, no clues of rain.

No more than 5 minutes later we were struck by hell. It was time to boogie. So we ran to the gas station, filled up, and headed out. Unfortunately our designated camera car had also left with the other chumps who weren’t hardcore enough (lol) so the only picture we have from the night is this here pre-game photo.

But don’t worry. Chances of rain are at 80% tonight, and the camera car is ready to go 😉 Stay tuned!

I dropped off my good friend, Fredric Aasbø at LAX early this rainy morning. He sure does have some very neat things in store for his JZA80 for next year. I can’t wait to go pick him up in late February!

A weekend with Top Flight

I hitched a ride on Friday night with Bradley from the infamous Team Top Flight based out of Phoenix, Arizona, for a crazy weekend full of XDC and street drifting.

The first night we spent fixing Brad’s car so it would pass Arizona’s lenient emissions standards. Since the car failed the first time with numbers well above the criteria, we would have to do some work to help the motor run a bit leaner. We changed the spark plugs, cleaned the air filter, retarded the timing, and ran some alcohol in the gas tank. Voila! The car passed with flying colors. Amazing.

V8 Sucks Video has surfaced!

When the last non-V8 car was eliminated from the Top 4, I ventured out to the bottom of the grand stands and held my sign up high and proud for all get a piece of my mind. Unfortunately, this video was taken as I was walking away, but many people were cheering in agreement!

Save Drifting Campaign 2011

Hey so I went to the Formula Drift 2010 finals on Saturday. More bullshit calls and ugly cars than anyone could ever wish for!

I decided that this event would be the perfect one to debut my new protest campaign, the Save Drifting Campaign 2011. I took plenty of pics of the cars that are thumbs down!
