My school chose me as “Student of the Month”. Pretty cool, I guess. My counselor invited me to lunch with the Kiwana’s Club. I was supposedly the “Guest of Honor” along with another student (student of the month from the previous month). We stood at the front before a bunch of lawyers, bankers, doctors, and others who belong to this group. My counselor introduced us to everyone and explained our future career aspirations and such. He explained, “Teddy likes to go car racing on his free time,” and a smart Alec in the crowd shouted out, “Did you bring your pink slip?” I couldn’t help but laugh.
Anyway, I thought it was quite nice. Many people sincerely congratulated us for our work, and we got a nice lunch as well. Cool day.
